Businesses normally face challenges, which are not an issue for Hussain al Nowais, the managing director and chairman of the famous Emirates Holdings, known for making dying companies live again and even succeed. There might be a lot of questions in your mind regarding the ways on how this UAE Businessman bloomed in this kind of business.

Hussain al Nowais grew up facing so many trials, which molded him to become the man that he is right now.

When Hussain al Nowais was still young, he and his siblings saw the struggles of their parents. And now, they are already enjoying the good things that they have earned.

According to him, purified drinking water was a luxurious kind of water for them while only a few can afford to have an air conditioner. Abu Dhabi looked like a village with no citizens, as Hussain al Nowais described it before. Years ago, their family stayed in an area of Corniche, and the town’s centre was Al Husn.

Hussain al Nowais was sent to Qatar to study since Abu Dhabi’s schooling was insufficient.There was a norm before that people leave Abu Dhabi and go to Saudi Arabia or Qatar to get out from a difficult kind of life.

When Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan became president of UAE, a lot of families have returned, including the family of Al Nowais. When they came back, their family was blessed after Al Nowai’s grandfather became a foodstuff and material trader instead of remaining from his past job as a pearl merchant. The business was good, making their family have a trade organisation.

When Al Nowais completed his high school in a school in Abu Dhabi, he then went to the U.S. in order to resume his education.

He finished a business administration degree in the United States of America and then practices it right away in the UAE, wherein his heart and soul were filled with optimism and bright ideas. In 1978, Al Nowais was known to be one out of few who was able to study outside UAE and was able to successfully communicate with businessmen from different countries.

With his outstanding capabilities as a leader, he has successfully made their business fly, which finally became a famous distributing, manufacturing, trading, and contracting company. He even recalled how we build everything almost from nothing.

When his career was still on the state of growing, he was given a chance to supply equipment for electrical use for a department in the government.

He earned his success through acquiring skills and knowledge and continuously improving them along the way.

During the Gulf War, Al Nowais saw their food business as something that would succeed because it is needed. His brilliance even made him acquire some businesses that are dying, wherein he restructured them and made them earn a lot once again.

Even up to this very day, he is still showing everyone in the whole wide world how possible it is to succeed for such a long time.
